Total requirement & availability of players:

For IPL 2020 there was a total of 332 players were shortlisted for playing IPL out of 997 players.
Yes, a total of 997 players were registered for Vivo IPL 2020. Out of the 332 was required and shortlisted by all 8 franchises.

A total of 186 Indian players, 143 overseas players and 3 players are from Associated Nation. After a request from all franchises, 6 new players are added to existing list before the day of the auction.

On 19 December 2019 Vivo IPL 2020 auction was held in Kolkata. And all teams bid and bought the players according to their planning.
